Year 3, Primary Pupil Voice Lead

I am originally from a village in the outskirts of Glasgow, where prior to my career in teaching I worked in Business and Management. That was until 2007, when my travelling bug kicked in and I embarked on a gap year exploring some amazing countries around the world, making some incredible memories and lifelong friends. When I returned to Scotland I studied at Strathclyde University and qualified as a Primary Teacher in 2011.

Working in the international setting was always a dream and coming to Dubai, I have not been disappointed. I have watched it develop into an amazing city full of opportunity with values that are admired and respected. I fully enjoy everything this country has to offer and have embraced many new experiences.

I have now completed my fourth year, in Year 5, at NAS Dubai and I have loved every minute. I am ready to take on a new challenge and I am excited to be joining the Year 1 team. My key focus is to build excellent relationships with all pupils. I pride myself on developing a positive, safe and nurturing classroom ethos where pupils are growing as confident individuals, responsible citizens, effective contributors and successful learners. Developing the Pupil Voice and Student Wellbeing across the Primary sector will also be high on my agenda, as I embark on embracing leadership roles to enhance my own skill set and also to empower our young students in the whole school community. Putting the child at the center of everything I do is a high priority.

I am very much looking forward to another successful year ahead and creating many more amazing memories!
