For myself, growing up in a small village just outside of Doncaster in South Yorkshire, I had no idea what career I was going to have. Even through my 3 years studying my Biology undergraduate degree at Newcastle University, I’d never even dreamed of teaching, although I had a passion to achieve great things! It wasn’t until I decided to live abroad for nearly 2 years, and took a job teaching English to students of all ages in a place just outside of Tokyo in Japan. Throughout this period of my life, I developed a great love for teaching and helping children grow both educationally and personally. It was then I decided that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life.
I moved to London and studied my PGCE within multiple inner-London schools, allowing me to gain lots of experience in a variety of different multicultural classroom environments – some more challenging than others. It is the varying challenge that I learned to love and my experiences have really helped me thrive and evolve as a teacher. My goal is to do my utmost for each individual child in my care, to make learning fun and creative and to help my students become well prepared for the future.
I’m really looking forward to seeing what the upcoming academic year has to offer in NAS Dubai and am excited to meet each new class that comes my way!
