Originally from a small town in the West Midlands, I have been a fully qualified primary school teacher for eight years and have taught in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. I hold both a BA (Hons) degree in Childhood, Culture and Education and a MA degree in Teaching Studies, which were both awarded by the University of Birmingham.
Whilst studying for my masters, I researched Character Education and the positive impact that the character of the child can have on their learning. I am very passionate about the holistic child and have been both leader of Social and Emotional Learning at my previous school and leader of primary student wellbeing at NAS Dubai.
Having a clear philosophy of education is important to me; I believe that teaching should be child-led, focusing on the individual needs of each child, their interests and classroom dynamics. I set high expectations and challenge for children I teach, and have witnessed first-hand the success of learners within an environment that nurtures social and emotional development, promotes positive wellbeing and encourages natural inquisitiveness. My enthusiasm in the classroom allows children to enjoy their education whilst also reaching their full potential.
During my spare time I like to keep as active as possible to stay fit and healthy. I love cooking and like to experiment with cooking new recipes for my friends and family. I am also a keen traveller and love to travel to new countries during the school holidays.
