I am an energetic, enthusiastic and passionate teacher and believe that learning should be an enjoyable experience; captivating the interests of the children by providing a context for learning. My positive classroom environment enables me to offer a climate for learning, whereby children strive to achieve inan atmosphere based upon mutual respect.
I love teaching because every day something makes me smile. From children reaching that ‘light-bulb’ moment, to their excitement over a new topic – their enthusiasm is endless! It’s such a fantastic career because each set of students is different to the last, bringing with them different qualities and attributes which we celebrate in class.
I show a particular interest in expressive arts; making lessons come alive through the use of drama and role play. I strongly believe that drama is not simply a subject, but also a method. It enables children to gain an understanding of themselves and others; offering skills that enable children to become lifelong learners. It develops confidence, empathy, creativity and imagination. Building self-confidence is something that is important throughout school and beyond, and something which I strive to embed within all of the students.
