Head of Year 5

Originally from Scotland, I graduated from Dundee University with a BEd (Hons) in Primary Education.

I taught in bonnie Scotland for 6 years before making the big move out to Dubai. After living here in this beautiful city for 13 years, it has most definitely become my ‘home from home’. I am grateful to live in such a vibrant, multi-cultural city with my husband and two children both of whom are part of the NAS family.
Within my professional career to date, I have worked throughout all year groups from Nursery through to Year 6 and led a successful Early Years department prior to my move to NAS Dubai.

As a teacher, I believe in using care and humour to engage and motivate the children in my care. I strive to build positive relationships and get to know the individual personalities of each class member.

I fully believe in creating a safe, engaging and challenging learning experience for every child in my class. I foster a learning environment where all children are encouraged to take risks, develop critical thinking skills, have ownership of their learning and be part of our unique learning community.

When I am not in school, I love spending time with family and friends. As a family, we love to go to the beach and enjoy the (mostly) beautiful climate by spending lots of time outdoors. My hobbies also include, keeping fit, coffee catch ups and taking time out with a good book!
