After completing rigorous studies and a variety of school placements, I spent four years teaching in a high performing school in London and the last two years teaching in Dubai. It fills me with excitement to be joining the Year 6 team at NAS Dubai this year.
During my time in London, I taught in Year 3 and Year 5, progressing to the post of Year Leader in each year group. Shortly after this, I became the Head of English, which I thoroughly enjoyed as I have a passion for literacy. I then joined the Senior Leadership Team, where I worked alongside the Head Teacher to implement whole school initiatives. These experiences have developed my pedagogy, whilst providing me with a wealth of skills and knowledge.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in the vibrant city of Dubai and international teaching. For the past two years in Dubai, it has been an absolute privilege to work with students from all over the world and such diverse backgrounds; I find it fascinating to learn about their different cultures and experiences. For the previous two years, I have taught in Year 6 and I take enjoyment and pride from facilitating them to grow into mature, independent learners, who are ready for the next stage of their educational journey.
I endeavour to get to know each pupil as an individual, providing them with a happy and safe learning environment, where they feel free to take risks, make mistakes and have ownership of their own learning. Through creating an engaging and challenging curriculum, I strive to instill a love of learning, where pupils flourish into resilient, ambitious and successful young people. I cannot wait to get to know my new class, 6A, at NAS Dubai and begin to share some inspiring learning experiences together.
