Secondary Business Studies & Economics

I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Liverpool, located in the North West of England. Here is where I spent my time, developing my passion for Business Studies and as a result acquired a BA (Honours) degree in Business with Marketing from Liverpool Hope University. I then went onto complete my PGCE in Business Education at Edge Hill University, Ormskirk.

I currently have 9 years’ teaching experience and began my career in Liverpool and after three years ventured to Dubai to spread my love for Business Studies further afield.  My teaching experience is wide and varies across most Business, Finance, Economics and ICT related courses, ranging from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5. Due to the wide and varied subject areas I have taught across, I now have extensive knowledge and experience of teaching multiple courses ranging from BTEC Level 3 to A-Level Business.

I consider myself to be a creative and innovative practitioner, who strives to engage and captivate student’s enthusiasm and motivation; to not only learn but to step forward as leaders of the ever developing business world of work. Over the years I have continued to implement a yearly initiative ‘apprentice’ style programme to raise student engagement and to demonstrate a variety of entrepreneurial skills such as teamwork, creativity, innovation and risk taking. Skills which are prevalent in the ever developing city of Dubai.

Previously I have held the position of Deputy Leader of Sixth Form, which showcased my most notable attributes as a teacher, which is my ability to create and build strong relationships with students. It is imperative to create a nurturing environment in order to enhance learning and cultivate ambition.

Furthermore my commitments to developing the whole individual are reflected in my support of extra-curricular activities, with my main specialism in Netball. I have a Level C umpire award which has enabled me to support and assist in many key matches during my time here in Dubai. I am extremely fortunate that I have the opportunity to continue a profession which I have so much passion for, in a school of International success, which is renowned for its excellence. I am incredibly excited to being a part of the NAS Dubai family and look forward to meeting everybody in August.
