After studying English, Theatre and Cultural studies at university, I completed my teacher training at Canterbury Christchurch University in Kent and went on to teach English, Drama and Media studies in the London Borough of Bexley for 13 years. One highlight in my career to date, was working alongside the Royal Shakespeare Company on tour with Richard III and working with the British film school.
I joined The British International School in Abu Dhabi in 2009 as Head of English where we celebrated some outstanding IGCSE and IB English Language and English Literature results.
I’ve been incredibly fortunate to continue my teaching journey with Nord Anglia Education with my move to NAS Dubai in 2013, where I am currently leading an immensely popular drama department. Our purpose-built auditorium provides all the facilities needed to gain experience in every aspect of production from sound and lighting to directing and, of course, acting!
Drama is a vital part of school life and at NAS Dubai our students take part in a staggering array of activities. One of the highlights on the calendar is the whole school production and to date, our productions have included A Christmas Carol, Roar, Aladdin, Bugsy Malone, Hairspary and Grease!
In addition, this year, students sat the GCSE drama course in one year and we are thrilled that all students achieved A*-A.
In my spare time I enjoy running, playing the piano and yoga!
