Secondary Mathematics, Second in Department

I grew up in Rutland which is the smallest county in the United Kingdom. I graduated with a first class honours from the University of Leeds and then studied for a PGCE at the University of Nottingham, alongside teaching full time at Northampton Academy.

I stayed in Northampton for three years as a mathematics teacher and co-ordinator of numeracy for the Academy. During that time I taught Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. I have already been working in Dubai for 4 years and taught GCSE and International Baccalaureate Mathematics. I have taught students from an incredibly diverse range of backgrounds but always achieved outstanding results.

I am passionate about Mathematics and try to inspire a similar passion and curiousity in those I teach. I believe all students can make excellent progress and love seeing students develop and flourish. Work ethic is key to success and I try to foster a culture of continual improvement within my classroom, where students feel confident enough to attempt difficult problems and are resilient when solving them.

I am a sports enthusiast and enjoy playing football, hockey, squash, tennis and just about anything else. In my holidays I enjoy travelling and have most recently been to Thailand, Bulgaria, Jordan and Oman.
