I feel privileged to be in such a rewarding and fulfilling job and I have a great passion for my subject. Since gaining my PGCE in both primary and secondary Science, I have taught across the key stages and worked closely with primary schools to raise standards in primary Science teaching. My specialist subject is Biology with a second PGCE gained in Physics.
I am currently a Head of Science in a Secondary school in England and I bring with me ten years of teaching experience. Prior to my role as Head of Department I was a pastoral leader in my position as a Head of House. I am thoroughly looking forward to taking on the role of a tutor at NAS Dubai and getting to know all about my tutees as we begin the GCSE journey together.
I pride myself on providing a stimulating learning environment in which pupils can develop to their full potential. I enjoy utilising ICT technology and practical experiments in order to bring Science to life and ultimately maximise learning experiences both inside and outside of the classroom. Improving the life chances for pupils by providing outstanding, engaging and challenging lessons which meet the needs of individual pupils in order to raise their attainment is something that I strive to deliver each day. I believe it is important to not only strive for high academic standards, but to also nurture independent, confident, kind and caring learners who aim high and aspire to achieve their full potential.
On a personal level, I am married and have two children, Fraser aged four and Gracie aged seven. I love spending time with my family and attending sporting events through one of the many activities that our children participate in. I have recently found a love of running and I have completed three 5k races for charity, one of which was with my 7 year old daughter. We enjoy travelling and are looking forward to enjoying outdoor activities in warmer climates! As a family we are incredibly excited about our move to Dubai and the new challenges it will bring.
I am thoroughly looking forward to meeting you all.
