I completed my Chemistry diploma and Science PGCE in Liverpool, and from there, moved to South-West London for my first teaching position in an outstanding inner city all boys’ school. During my five years there, I have taught across the Key Stages, including Chemistry and Psychology at A-Level. After two years, I became Head of KS4 Science, and have enjoyed working to improve our students’ GCSE achievement. I introduced a PGL revision and activity weekend which has proven to be a huge success with our Year 11s.
I believe that learning should be an enjoyable challenge, where every student makes progress whilst having fun. I pride myself in my creativity within lessons, and have been an active member of the Creative Teaching Group in my current school for four years. Within Science, there is great opportunity for independent investigation and teamwork, and I encourage these wherever possible to help develop students’ personal skills as well as their subject knowledge.
Outside the classroom, I enjoy travelling and discovering new places, cultures and cuisines, and I have developed a love of photography. I look forward to continuing my own education of the world from Dubai.
I have found my time in London very rewarding, working with a variety of young men from very different backgrounds, but I am thoroughly enjoying the professional challenges at NAS Dubai. I love being an integral part in the expansion and increasing success of such an aspirational and highly reputed school.
