From September 2010 to July 2013 I taught the three Sciences to GCSE level in Manchester UK. Although I was new to the teaching profession I picked up a number of responsibilities at department level.
From August 2013 to July 2016 I have taught at GEMS Wellington International School, specialising in Chemistry and Physics to GCSE and teaching IB Chemistry. I also picked up a number of responsibilities within the department and also at whole school levels.
Personal interests of mine include taking part in a number of sports and keeping myself fit along with spending time with my young family of three children. I especially love football and have done so as far as I can remember. I have been part of semi professional teams that have played all over the UK.
I am currently in my ninthth year of teaching and I have a strong philosophy in the way I expect students to learn in Science. I truly believe students are naturally fascinated by the three Sciences as we can enthuse them by the practical skills we instill in them. This along with high levels of motivation and enthusiasm ensures pupils make strong progress within lessons. Building critical thinking skills and teamwork is also a very important tool as this sets them up well for the IB Diploma. Building pupils’ independent skills is also very important as it allows them to face challenges and persevere to find solutions to problems.
