I am currently in my 6th year of teaching, with experience teaching both in the UK and the Middle East. Since my internship in Malaysia during my undergraduate degree, I knew I wanted to work internationally. I have been fortunate enough to have this opportunity in 2017 and I am looking forward to growing as an educator with NAS Dubai.
I have attended Queen Mary, University of London, Goldsmith’s University and UCL and achieved a BEng in Medical Materials Engineering, PGCE in Mathematics and MA in Mathematics education respectively but I am far from done in my educational pursuits. This is the reason I was attracted as education as a career but the students are the reason why this career is now a life long commitment.
I believe that education is a human right but as an educator we must push beyond the boundaries set by the cultural capital stigma to make sure that all students achieve their potential. Mathematics has been a love of mine since as long as I can remember and it is my hope that all students I have the pleasure to teach share in my passion for the subject. As my mathematics teacher once told me “Mathematics is not for those that find mathematics easy but for those that enjoy the challenge”, and with sentiment, I aim to challenge all my students appropriately and hopefully facilitate the growth of resilient young learners.
I look forward to joining NAS Dubai this August and working with an outstanding Mathematics Department and an outstanding school.
