My time spent as an au pair, living and working in Toulouse provided me with the chance to truly immerse myself in French language, culture and family life. This was a fantastic experience for me and further enhanced my aim of becoming a French teacher.
As part of my degree I spent 9 months in Angers where I worked as a Language Assistant, teaching English to French students aged 15-18. I thoroughly enjoyed this year abroad; I found it so rewarding and it confirmed my plans to become a teacher. This is where my strengths lay!
After returning to the UK and completing my final year at Nottingham, I chose to complete a PGCE at the University of Chester. The following year I began working at a high school in Warrington where I have taught both French and Spanish for the past four years. Last year, I was nominated for the Warrington Guardian’s Teacher of the Year Award by the parents of one of my students. I was truly honoured, in the first instance, to have been nominated but to win was one of my proudest achievements!
I am extremely lucky to call Dubai my home and having this wonderful opportunity to work within the Nord Anglia family. It is a privilege to work with our talented and dedicated students. I work very hard to inspire and foster a love of languages within the NAS community and will continue to give my absolute best to realizing every student’s potential.
In my spare time, I enjoy travelling, socialising and keeping fit. I love to explore and learn about new cultures and what better place to do so than in Dubai.
