I am currently undertaking an MA in Education, Policy and Society at King’s College London. The key focus has been on Education Policy and has given me the opportunity to analyse and evaluate wider societal issues that can impact teaching in the classroom.
The first three years of my teaching career were spent working at Watford Grammar Schools for Boys, where I was responsible for the school’s PSHE programme and Leader of Duke of Edinburgh Award alongside my teaching role. For the last two years, I have been at Mill Hill School, where I was an Economics teacher and Deputy Housemistress of a day house. These roles have given me valuable experiences in motivating students both academically and pastorally. Also, I have had the experience of working in Higher Education. For the last two summers, I have worked as an Economics Course Director on the “LSE Choice Summer School”. With this background, I understand how imperative high quality teaching and learning is to the development of students as they progress to higher education.
I have always been fully dedicated and enthusiastic in any of the roles I have undertaken and this is reflected in the work ethic and attitude of the students that I am involved with. I am very much looking forward to sharing my passion for Economics with my new students at NAS Dubai. I believe that teaching Economics through demonstrating application to the real world is the key to developing a love and passion for the subject. It is my continued aim as a teacher to ensure the development of the whole student through a positive and challenging experience within lessons and supported by an extensive enrichment programme.
My enthusiasm for sport has given me a competitive streak, that has allowed me to achieve my goals. During my leisure time I enjoy running, playing tennis and cooking. I also love travelling to new destinations and experiencing different cultures.
