I believe that PE allows students to develop life-long skills that are applicable off the sports field, and I am always looking at innovative ways to improve my teaching to engage students in the subject. Extracurricular activities are key in students leading a healthy lifestyle and becoming well-rounded individuals. In my current school, I have coached athletics, football and cricket teams, as well as running a popular swimming club and fitness classes in the gym.
This coming academic year will be my ninth year of teaching. For the past eight years, I have worked in an Outstanding all boys’ school in south-west London. Within my career, I have vast experience of teaching across Key Stages 3-5, including GCSE, A-Level, and BTEC. My most recent GCSE classes have achieved 100% A*-C and I look forward to working towards the same level of success in NAS Dubai. I also have seven years of experience as a Head of Year, which has highlighted the importance of looking at each student holistically.
My own love of sports has seen me being a part of a football team, and I enjoy running which led me to complete my first half marathon this year. Because I like to try new things, I have also recently taken up jujitsu, and I look forward to trying some new water sports in Dubai.
Teaching in the UAE has been one of my main career ambitions. Immersing myself in a culture of progress and innovation, along with my desire to live in a country that mirrors my own background, fills me with excitement. I am particularly enthusiastic about the opportunity to develop my own written and spoken Arabic.
Having heard of the wonderful reputation of Nord Anglia, I am proud to join my wife there and look forward to the pleasure of working with new students from their different backgrounds.
