From a very young age and having grown up in Algeria, I was exposed to three languages: French, Arabic and Berber. Therefore speaking three languages growing up, influenced my decision to become a language teacher.
During my career of 16 years I have had the opportunity to teach both English as a foreign language and French, which is my native tongue. I have gained invaluable experience, thus helping me to understand and respond to the diverse needs of my students. Each student deserves an individualised learning journey, guided by the inspiration of their teacher. I love helping children to discover who they are, so they can express their own opinions and nurture their own ideas. I have had the privilege of teaching different age groups; from children as young as 3 right up to 83 years olds! Proving it is never too late to learn a new language!
I graduated with a BA in English & American Literature and Civilisation and my route into teaching led me to complete a qualification in French as a foreign language. Finally in 2005, I was successful in completing my MSc in ‘Teaching English to Students of other Languages’. My journey so far has been hugely positive; I am teaching French to children from Early Years to Secondary School, an opportunity that I relish as I am constantly learning to be flexible in my pedagogy.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy traveling and hiking with my family and my friends ! I also have a passion for football, volleyball and basketball, having played them since my childhood. I believe that these sports have given me the skill to work as part of a team to achieve a common goal. I am truly fortunate to work alongside inspirational colleagues, as we share ideas to develop our teaching practice.
NAS Dubai is a special place; offering children a unique breadth of experience that I have not witnessed in any other school. We have a fantastic environment, where the children enjoy learning and are respected for their unique talents. I am truly blessed, that my son Sean attends this school and what he loves most are his teachers and the friends that he has made. We look forward to many more years here at Nord Anglia International School Dubai.
