Louise Nolan

World Languages Leader, Spanish

Born and raised in Ireland, I relocated to England at the age of eighteen to begin my university studies. After graduating from Liverpool John Moores University with a BA (Hons) degree in Spanish and European Studies, I relocated to Asturias, Spain where I taught English as a Foreign Language for four years.

I thoroughly enjoyed being totally immersed in Spanish culture and language, and it was this experience which motivated me to pursue a career in teaching Spanish. I completed my PGCE at Edge Hill University and subsequently took up a teaching post at a popular, all-boys school in the North of England.

I believe that as teachers, we must continue to develop professionally and as a result ensure that our children are instructed in a way which is conducive to outstanding learning and social development. I am highly motivated and enjoy creating a stimulating learning environment where my students crave knowledge about the language and country they are studying.

I encourage students to step outside their comfort zone and become confident, forward-thinking individuals. I enjoy the dynamic nature of teaching and strive to instill a love for lifelong learning. I feel privileged to wake up every day and work with the children, teenagers, fellow colleagues and wider community at Nord Anglia International School Dubai.

In my free time I enjoy being outdoors, being active and being challenged to try new sports.
