I have taught at the British International School of Houston since 2008. I have been teaching languages for over 25 years in various countries including; England, Venezuela and the US. After obtaining my BA Hons degree in Modern Languages and studying at the universities in Bordeaux, France and Granada, Spain, I completed my PGCE at Swansea University in Wales. During my teaching time in England I was responsible for the teaching and learning of Spanish across the school and for Differentiation throughout the Languages Department.
As well as teaching in the education system I have also taught EAL to business professionals in the Oil and Gas industry here in Houston. While living in Chicago I was very involved in the Home Schooling Programme and played a vital role in the local school district’s Strategic Planning Process.
I love teaching and I am passionate about making language learning exciting and accessible to all students and take great pride in creating a lively, stimulating learning environment in my classroom.
Outside of school I enjoy a variety of activities including; reading, going to concerts, sewing and knitting. I love to travel and experience different cultures. I am very interested in Egyptology and have been fortunate to have visited many historical sites in Egypt.
What the students say about me

“Mrs Beeston is an all-round, fabulously fun teacher! She is loving and caring to everyone.”
This school is different to all others I have worked at because…
The students are all amazing here and there is a real nurturing atmosphere. We all care about each other.
