My first international experience was at the Shanghai American School. I loved teaching and living abroad so much that I continued on to work in international schools in Abu Dhabi, Doha, and The Hague. Over the course of my career, I have become passionate about the teaching of reading and developing my students as life-long readers. My favorite part of the day is when I have my students gathered around sharing a book. Prior to coming to BISH, I was a Language Arts teacher at a local Katy ISD elementary school. I was excited to return to an international community when I began teaching at BISH.
I’m originally from Long Island, New York. When my husband’s job relocated us to Houston, I was happy to be back in the U.S. after years of living abroad and for my two children to experience living in the states. As a family, we enjoy spending our weekends camping and traveling to new places.
What the students say about me
Mrs. Jamieson is an amazing teacher who I look up to. She is always there to make me laugh. I love the way that you can always depend on her, as not only a teacher but a friend. She has taught me to always stay confident and true to myself. I was so lucky to have had her as my teacher.
Mrs. Jamieson is a kind teacher who you can look at as a trustworthy friend. She makes learning easier and fun! Whoever has her as their teacher is extremely lucky!
Mrs. Jamieson is the best teacher ever. She helps us when we are stuck and does not mind when we get stuff wrong. Instead, she helps us!
This School is different to all others I have worked at because…
I love the flexibility of the learning spaces at BISH and how students and teachers can utilize the spaces to optimize learning.
