After six years teaching in Wales I joined the Nord Anglia family of schools two years ago when I was employed by Compass International School in Doha. I taught in the Humanities department there and was also a year leader. Having very much enjoyed my experiences living and working in Qatar I decided to take up a fresh challenge and am very pleased to have found myself joining the British International School of Houston. I am enjohing working at this internationally renowned school and making the most of its fantastic facilities and modern pedagogical approach to teaching.
I obide by Welsh law by avidly following the national rugby team(!) and have also played the game for years. I am also a football fan and as well as following Wales I am a big Manchester United supporter. I was successful as a sprinter when younger and still try to keep fit in my elder years! Traveling is a big interest of mine and I enjoy visiting new places. I enjoy learning about and experiencing different cultures and I’m enjoying doing that here in the United States.
This School is different to all others I have worked at because…
Students embrace independent learning and they do that responsibly. They want the tools, they want the instructions but then they are eager to go and engage with tasks, armed with a self-awareness and a familiarity with the learning process that comes with being a student at BISH.
