Ms Maryam Halim

Maryam Halim

Assistant Teacher

I was an Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) therapist for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) for about 3 and a half year. I spent 3 more years as a a Personal Learning Assistant (PLA) or Shadow Aide for children with special needs. I've worked with more than 10 children with special needs before joining BSKL.

I was born and raised in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur. Baking is my hobby. The reason for being in the education line was to help my youngest brother who struggled with mild ASD. I built more interests in learning widely about education for typical children and also education for children with special needs as I pursued studies in this field.

Students happiness is when they enjoyed coming and being at school. They recognise and appreciate all of the good things in schools that include teachers, lessons, foods, friends without letting any challenges overshadow their decision. Student happiness also means when the children are proud of their own achievements, they embrace their maximum potential, acknowledge their personal shortcomings and feel grateful about it.
