Ms Serena Chan

Assistant Teacher

BSc Honours Degree in Psychology (Oxford Brookes University, UK); Diploma in TESOL (Singapore); Graduate Diploma in Education (Primary) (Murdoch University, Australia).

Over the past five years, Serena has taught in internationals in Malaysia and Singapore; the latter of which she spent three years teaching before joining British School Kuala Lumpur at the beginning of 2019. In her teaching career, she has taught students from Nursery to Year 6, holding various teaching positions including an Assistant Teacher, a Classroom Teacher and a Learning Support Teacher. 

Prior to becoming a teacher, Serena earned her first degree in Psychology from Oxford Brookes University, UK, followed by a Graduate Diploma in Primary Education from Murdoch University, Australia. During her student days, she participated in voluntary work with children, ranging from working in local primary schools to tutoring a little boy with special educational needs at his home. 

During her spare time, Serena enjoys singing, swimming, listening to music and exploring new eateries with friends and family. She also has a passion for Art and Drama; all for which she has had experience teaching. On a related note, Serena obtained a Grade 7 Silver award for her LAMDA examination in Speech and Drama when she was in secondary school.
