I've joined BSKL for two years and is looking forward my third year in the school. While studying in university, I've taken part in the charity teaching programme for about two year, teaching English to the underprivileged children from Jinjang Utara community in Malaysia. This has built my confidence and interest in teaching as well as widened my understanding towards the different obstacles for the underprivileged children to fight for a chance to obtain a proper education. After graduating from university, I've completed my internship as an English teacher in an international school in KL and also taught in a Korean Academic School for the Korean students who travelled during summer holiday to learn English in Malaysia, before I joined BSKL as an Assistant Teacher in primary school.
I've stayed in KL for about 8 years after leaving my hometown in East Malaysia. During free time, I really love cafe hopping and also taking pictures while exploring the hidden gems in town. In fact, I enjoy outdoor activities as much as I do for the indoors. As a second language learner, I understand the eagerness of a foreign or second language speaker to acquire the desired language, I try to learn and apply different strategies to help them and enjoy the happiness I gained from the students who successfully achieved their goals.
In my point of view, students' happiness represents a sense of achievement to me. It actually showed that they are safe and they enjoyed learning in school which makes me feel happy as well. It will motivate me to develop professionally in my teacher role in order to help them in all ways.
