Reception Class Teacher

BA Hons QTS Education and Advanced Early Years.

Emily taught children across the Primary age range and has worked in a range of settings from Children's Centres to large inner city schools. She worked as a Senior Leader in Primary schools for the past 13 years and has also worked for the Local Authority as an Early Years Moderator and supported teachers with their Early Years practice through school to school support.

Alongside leading Early Years, Emily has had the opportunity to lead inclusion across two different UK schools, leading teams of learning mentors, behaviour mentors, family support and SENDCo's. Emily has a real passion for children enjoying learning and has an interest in English as a subject. She had the opportunity to lead English across Primary for several years before specialising in Phonics and training as a Phonics Trainer for the local Authority. This enabled her to develop Phonics throughout primary and support other schools and teachers with their delivery of phonics.

When she is not working she enjoys travel and the opportunity to explore different countries and cultures. She has lived and worked abroad before in the Caribbean and in Africa as well as travelling in Europe with her family. When at home she enjoys reading, cooking and entertaining.
