Ms Jennifer Lim

Staff Profile Placeholder

Cello Teacher

Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Music with Honours in Cello Performance from the National University of Singapore. She received a full scholarship and studied under award-winning cellists Qin Li-Wei and Ng Pei-Sian.

Jennifer currently lectures at several universities within KL including University of Malaya and Sunway University. Other than that, she has her own private cello studio consisting of students as young as four up to adult age. Her students have won competitions and have a track record of attaining distinctions for their grades. She has also adjudicated music and string competitions within KL.

Jennifer grew up in Kuala Lumpur and comes from a non-musical family (her dad is a food scientist and her mom is an English teacher). She devotes her free time by engaging in hobbies such as cooking, jogging, and reading. Jennifer chose to be in the education line because she enjoys sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm about the cello with interested students. She hopes to cultivate an awareness of the instrument within the Malaysian community and to expand its circle of enthusiasts.

To me, student happiness means a love for the instrument and a sustained passion for music that goes beyond the classroom.
