Head of PE Primary
Mr Thomas Lewis started his teaching career at the British School of Egypt for 2 years as a classroom teacher after finishing university. He then spent 8 years in China working in 2 international schools in Suzhou. He then spent 5 years at Dulwich College as a class teacher then moving into physical education. He then moved to Overseas Chinese Academy of Suzhou and took up Head of Primary PE position, overseeing the running of PE and extra-curricular programmes with the PE department.
PE Teacher
Having completed her PGCE in Physical Education (Secondary) at Durham University, Charlene got her first teaching position in her home town of Hartlepool.
Ms Kristina Beacroft began her teaching career at a co-educational secondary school in Northolt, United Kingdom before teaching at an-girls independent preparatory school in Twickenham. She decided to join BSKL to experience teaching at an international school and to be closer to her family who lives in Kuala Lumpur. She enjoys travelling, attending live music, painting, dancing and sports.
Swimming Coach
Mr Wilson Chai has been an avid swimmer ever since he was 12 and as he has trained at the national level as a competitive swimmer in Malaysia during his growing high school years. As time passed by, he decided to adopt his hobby as a profession. He prides himself with his patience and his ability to handle children of all ages delicately whilst setting challenges to improve their water confidence. Wilson loves to travel and experience different cultures and food.
Swimming has been Mr Yang Chong Teng's passion from a very young age. He has been coaching since leaving University in 2006 and is a FINA Qualified Level 2 Coach since 2010. His specialty is forming the all 4 competitive strokes in competitive swimming, and devising a successful periodised swimming program. He also coached a Malaysian state waterpolo team and obtained favourable results.
Sports and Swim Coach - Whole School
Ms Kavitraa Paramaguru started teaching swimming as a part time job in high school at her local swimming club. She went on to further her studies in the UK and continued coaching and swimming. After graduating, she went to Shanghai, China and worked full time as a swimming teacher before joining BSKL.
Ms Heather Yap began participating in teaching swim programs at the age of 16. She begin to pursue teaching in the school community. She was actively involved in International Baccalaureate (IB) teaching and learning which has helped her to realise her calling in swimming and made the decision to be fully committed to full time coaching and teaching at BSKL.
