Sport and PE have been a major part of my life and my passion for educating young people to live fulfilling lives as members of society inspires me to teach. I have seventeen years of teaching experience having taught at five different schools since completing my PGCE at Loughborough University.
I love sport and outdoor and adventurous activities. Whilst living in Kota Kinabalu, I played and coached Rugby for KK Sharks and became a qualified PADI Rescue diver. I have completed a trek to Annapurna base camp at 4200m in Nepal. In Seoul I took up mixed martial arts and learnt how to ski. More recently, I have enjoyed the adventure of becoming a father to three little girls.
My experience of teaching and leading has continually reinforced my view that engagement in high quality PE and sport is crucial to develop children's happiness and wellbeing. Through sport we can learn how to live healthy lifestyles, inspire reliance, grit and determination, contribute as members of teams, encourage leadership and respect for one another, promote fair play, learn from our mistakes and overcome challenges, and most importantly, cultivate ‘good character’.
