I began my teaching career at a co-educational secondary school in Northolt (Alec Reed Academy) before accepting a new challenge of teaching at an all-girls independent preparatory school in Twickenham (St Catherine's School). After four years in West London, I decided to apply to BSKL to experience teaching at an international school, and to be closer to my family who live in Kuala Lumpur.
I grew up in Hong Kong and attended an international school myself. My parents now reside in Kuala Lumpur. I enjoy being creative, such as writing and painting, and have a passion for the arts. Other hobbies include traveling, attending live music, dancing, film and sport. I love watching and playing sport, specifically netball, rugby and football - I am a big fan of Crystal Palace FC! I decided to work in education so I could positively impact the lives of young people around the world. I was determined to do a job that felt bigger than myself and would create legitimate change. One of my favourite quotes is: 'Every other human being is you'. Treat everyone around you with kindness and embrace the qualities that make us diverse. Respect every individual for their differences and always show compassion.
Student happiness is embracing a child for the completeness that they are and celebrating their efforts at every level. My role is to create an environment that allows every pupil to shine, so I can help them grow not only as individuals, but within a team. It is to provide them with the opportunity to flourish.
