I aspire to be like my Year 3 teacher; kind, caring and approachable. My aim is for the children in my class to feel safe, happy, confident and have a love of learning.
Whilst in the UK, I worked in schools in Surrey and London in the UK, teaching Year 1 up to Year 6, with experience of leading geography across Key Stage 1. In 2015 I was appointed as Year 1 teacher at the British International School of Houston. This was my first international teaching post and I enjoyed learning about my students' home countries and cultures. In addition to my role as class teacher, I also supported the STEAM and maths learning in Early Years and Key Stage 1. I loved teaching internationally so in 2017 I moved to Qatar and have spent the last four years at Compass International School Doha. I was appointed as maths leader and class teacher, teaching Year 1 for my first two years and Year 2 for my final two years. I visited BSKL in February 2020 and am delighted to be a part of the community now. I cannot wait to meet my new class and explore Malaysia.
I am originally from Surrey, in the UK, where my parents, my brother, my dog and my cat all live. My hobbies consist of volunteering at animal shelters, live theatre/concerts, going to the beach, swimming, and travelling. I feel very lucky to have visited 49/50 states in the USA and 47 countries. My favourite colour is orange, I love pandas and I will always sing along (badly) to anything Disney!
