After graduating, I started off my teaching career in a well-known preschool in Kuala Lumpur in 2004 where I taught for five years working with children between the ages of two and five. After joining BSKL in 2009 as one of the pioneer staff members, growing our school from the ground up. I have taught across the Early Years and Key Stage 1 setting over the last twelve years. I thoroughly enjoy working with younger children as they are at a stage in their lives where they find the world very fascinating and are very inquisitive to find out more.
Having been born and raised in Malaysia, I can speak multiple languages that are widely spoken here in Malaysia. I have a passion for learning new languages and currently learning Spanish, which would be my 5th language. I currently live in the Klang Valley with my husband, who is Spanish, and my young son. One of my favourite quotes is, "A persons a person, no matter how small." by Dr Seuss. It is important to remember that everyone deserves the same respect, no matter their size, the way they look, or where they come from. During the school holidays, I love travelling. From a road trip to the beautiful sights and sounds Malaysia has to offer, to hopping onto a plane and exploring the big wide world, learning about how other people live and their cultures. One of my most memorable trips was when I went to Japan and stayed with a local family in a small fishing town, experiencing their way of life.
Student happiness to me is seeing a child succeed in whatever they put their mind to. This could be as simple as being able to write their name independently, to scoring a goal in a football match, to performing on stage to a large audience.
