I worked for 3 years in Birmingham in the UK before moving to work at an international school in Abu Dhabi, UAE for 6 years. While there I became the science coordinator as well as a Key Stage leader. I worked in multiple year groups and across different key stages. I then moved to Malaysia to work at Alice Smith for 6 years, working as a class teacher as well as being science lead and creating the science curriculum and writing the skills ladder which was used to assess and plan from.
I am originally from Somerset in the UK and I live in Malaysia with my daughter. I love to bake cakes and other sweet treats as well as travelling when I can with my daughter. I really enjoy watching sport especially rugby and loved watching the olympics over the summer.
My main goal as a class teacher is to ensure all the children in my care feel safe and happy as without this they will not learn to the best of their ability and reach their academic potential as well as flourish as individuals. In order to do this I ensure I get to know the children well (their strengths, their passions and what they want to improve) and make clear that our classroom is a calm, safe space.
