Mr Jonathan Hurley

Carl Mincher

Year 6 Teacher

My name is Jonathan Hurley and I will be joining the Year 6 team at BSKL in August 2020.

Previously I was the Head of Year 6 at Nord Anglia International School Dubai and I have been teaching in Year 6 for the past 5 years. I am married and have two children. My daughter, Alya, will also be joining BSKL to start her A-Levels and my son, Daniel, is currently studying to become a teacher at Nottingham University. My family and I are so excited to be moving back to Malaysia and to be joining the BSKL family.

I am from London, England and have been teaching students in upper primary in London and the UAE for the past 20 years. I am passionate about teaching. Despite taking on many different management and senior leadership roles throughout my international teaching career, I have always returned to the classroom as this is where the magic is.

As a teacher, I am passionate about promoting international mindedness and multi-cultural education. I like to inspire students to look at the world from their own perspectives and from the many other different cultural viewpoints.

I am a keen sportsman and love to teach and play all sports including football, squash, tennis and swimming. In my spare time I like to disconnect from the internet, travel and get out into the natural world to meet people from different countries, cities and cultures.
