My career in education began in England where I taught for nine years as a Design and Technology Teacher, specialising in a range of subjects; Graphic Products, Resistant Materials, Electronics and Textile Design. I was Assistant Head of a large Design and Technology Department in Devon for four years before I moved to Kuala Lumpur in 2014 to set up the Graphic Design Department at BSKL. Since being at BSKL I have taught both D&T: Graphic Products and Art & Design: Graphic Communications.
I enjoy being active, outside in nature and enjoy learning new skills; my current hobbies include crossfit, cycling and stand up paddle boarding. As an educator my aim is to enable my students to share this love of learning as a means to develop themselves and grow. As well as being a teacher I am a qualified personal trainer and fitness instructor.
I believe the key to happiness is to understand how to take care of oneself and to be able to manage our own wellbeing. In addition to my teaching role at BSKL, I aim to be a positive role model to students and use my skills and expertise as educator and qualified fitness professional to provide students the knowledge and tools to develop their capacity to understand their own wellbeing.
