Ms Amanda Tai Laragione

Amanda Larogonie

Head of Drama

Amanda graduated from East 15 Acting School and worked in the costume department of various theatres in London, including The Royal Opera House Covent Garden. After completing her teacher training, Amanda has taken on additional roles such as Head of House, Trip leader and, of course, production director. This will be her third post as Head of Department after having also taught English language and literature, and English as a Second Language.

Prior to joining BSKL, I worked in Cairo at New Cairo British International School as the Head Of Drama, and spent five years at Bangkok Prep International School, Bangkok Thailand, also as Head Of Drama.

I am from Liverpool in England, and moved to Essex for University with my now husband, who also teachers here at BSKL. We had our first daughter in Bangkok, and our son in Cairo. We have loved exploring Malaysia in the three years that we have lived here. Hiking, running, swimming and sampling local cuisine have been our favourite things to do here, and we cannot wait until we are able to take our adventures further afield and see more of this fabulous country.

Creating a learning environment in which students are happy and feel safe to explore, to be creative and to take on challenges is my top priority.
