Ms Melfie Ngwenya

Ms Melfie Ngwenya

Drama Teacher

Melfie started her career as a student activity coordinator in Tanzania. She then moved to Chile where she taught English as a foreign language for 2 years. She wanted to delve back into Drama education, hence she joined Regents Pattaya in Thailand as a drama specialist. She championed drama across diverse age groups in Secondary and Primary. Melfie has used her drama knowledge, skills, and passion to develop curriculum that ignites students’ creative potential and offer meaningful encounters within the Perfoming Arts. She is excited to now bring her enthusiasm and energy to BSKL and remain within the wider Nord Anglia family. In her spare time, Melfie enjoys storytelling, watching live theatre, travelling, and cooking.

My journey into teaching did not begin in an instant moment of inspiration, but rather it was a decision that evolved over the years. Having completed my undergraduate studies in 2015, l took up a role as a student activity coordinator in Tanzania. This experience ignited my love for teaching and led me to Chile where l taught English for 2 years before transitioning to my performing arts niche. As a drama specialist, l have been involved in theatre in education projects, script directing, Acting, and theatre for policy advocacy. In 2018, I joined Nord Anglia at Regents International School Pattaya in Thailand. My in-service teacher training helped me to develop my practice both as a teacher and an artist working in Primary and Secondary education.

Primary teaching gave me a platform to develop my passion in curriculum design, inspire and create meaningful learning encounters for students.
