Ms Karolina Malinowska

Karolina Malinowska

Head of EAL / English Teacher

Ms Karolina Malinowska worked as personal trainer before becoming a teacher. This reinforced her desire to teach as she enjoys sharing her knowledge and empowering people. She holds a Master’s Degree in Education, PGDE in Secondary English and BA (Hons) in English. She enjoys keeping fit and taking part in running events and races. She also enjoys yoga, travelling and reading.

After completing my PGDE in English, I began my teaching career at a state school in Nottinghamshire. During my time there, I taught English Language, Literature and Media Studies across all three key stages. I was also appointed assistant head of department, and later KS3 English coordinator. In 2018, I followed my dream of teaching abroad and moved to an international school in Malaysia. I have spent the last three years teaching English at KS3, IGCSE and IB level, and working in a range of leadership roles, including departmental and a whole school SLT associate post.

Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked as a Personal Trainer. This reinforced my desire to teach, as I really enjoyed sharing my knowledge and empowering people to achieve their goals. Despite the career change, I still enjoy keeping fit and regularly take part in running events and races, such as Tough Mudder obstacle courses. My favourite sports are weightlifting and Formula 1. I also enjoy yoga, travelling and reading.

Student happiness comes from building strong relationships and creating a safe and positive atmosphere that allows students to thrive. It also means learning and growing in a supportive environment, which encourages taking risks, trying new things and not being afraid of failure.
