I am married to the Head of Drama at BSKL and we have 2 wonderful children.
As you can imagine, I'm an avid athlete. I previously fought professionally in mixed martial arts (MMA), played basketball for Liverpool Men's National League team, and I enjoy cycling and mountain biking. The trails at Bukit Kiara are wonderful! I also play football for a few local teams in Malaysia.
I also love to cook, read and doodle! I love all combat sports, football, basketball and, honestly, any other sport that may be shown. I have an eclectic taste in music but, at the moment, am enjoying Rag 'n' Bone Man.
After I left school I didn’t really know what I wanted to do. As I was studying, I was also coaching basketball and Martial Arts. The more I did that, the more I enjoyed it. I eventually changed the University course I was studying to a teaching degree and never looked back.
My favourite educational quote is by Maya Angelou: "People won't remember what you did. People won't remember what you said, but they will remember how you made them feel". This is true for the vast majority of people. The biggest influences on my life are not people who are necessarily extremely successful. They are the people who made me believe in myself and exude positivity.
If students look forward to coming to school each day, look forward to seeing their teachers, aren't afraid to take risks and speak their mind, and feel safe and comfortable each day, that is what I would consider to be student happiness.
