Mr Charlie Watts

Mr Charlie Watts

Geography Teacher

Mr Charlie Watts has been teaching for 14 years in schools across the world. Started his career in West Yorkshire and continued on to Vietnam and Prague before coming here to BSKL. He holds a PGCE from University of Cumbria in Geography/Education. Sports is his other great passion, naming football, cricket and F1 being his main interest.

I have been teaching for 14 years in a diverse range of schools across the world. I have been fortunate enough to work with some incredible students in some wonderful schools all of which I remember fondly to this day. I began my career in West Yorkshire where I taught for 5 memorable years that taught me many of the skills that I feel make me an effective practitioner to this day. In 2013 I moved to Vietnam where I was subject leader for geography and first experienced the IGCSE curriculum which I have taught since. After 4 years in Vietnam I moved to a growing school in Prague where my experience helped develop the school's reputation as one of the best in the city. I missed teaching in Asia however so I am excited to be working in a world class school with students that I have heard so many positive things about.

I have wanted to be a teacher since I was 17 and this passion and desire to teach remains with me today. Outside of the classroom, I am very interested in travel and seeing the characteristics of different cultures. I have been to over 70 countries and I hope to visit many more in the future. Sport is my other great passion with football, cricket and F1 being my main interests.

I have always taught in happy classrooms as I firmly believe that if a person is enjoying what they are doing, learning will happen automatically. BSKL puts student happiness at the forefront of its priorities and this is one of the many philosophies that I share with the school.
