    Mr Adam Simson

    Adam Simson completed his degree and PGCE at Bristol University. In 2004 he took up his first teaching position at a comprehensive school in the same city teaching maths and ICT. After two years he moved to New Zealand, worked in a large comprehensive school near the capital Wellington. Here he was heavily involved with many extra curricular activities and taught year 13 calculus. On his return to the UK in 2010 he joined a very exciting and innovative maths department in Westminster Academy, London. Mr Simson had many different roles within the department, including IB standard level teacher, key stage 3 coordinator and responsibility for the teaching and learning strategy. In his final year there he was the head of maths, managing a department of 17 teachers. The school was named the TES School of the year for the UK in 2013. In September 2013 he joined the Oporto British School, becoming the Creativity, Action and Service coordinator in 2014. Here he taught IB mathematics at standard and studies level an

    Sonny gained a Mathematics degree from the University of Nottingham, and worked in corporate banking in Canary Wharf for 3 years before completing teacher training through Teach First in Ipswich. During his time teaching in comprehensive and private schools, Sonny has taught key stages 3,4 and 5 Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Statistics, and co-ordinated several successful entries into UKMT and International Maths Challenges.

    Mr Josh Coren

    Josh studied Maths with Finance at The University of Manchester, before completing his PGCE and Masters at the University of Hertfordshire. He began his career at Watford Grammar School for Boys where he has taught up to A level for both Maths and Further Maths. During his 5 years, he took on different responsibilities including House Coordinator, Data Manager, and in his final year, Head of Maths. Josh has assisted on multiple different trips, including the introduction and running of a yearly scuba diving trip to Malta, and has run a successful STEM club for the last 4 years.

    After several years working and studying as an actuarial trainee in Australia, Allison left the financial mathematics industry to pursue a doctorate in Mathematics and Theoretical Physics. During this time she began teaching mathematics and engineering at the University of Tasmania and then at the University of Melbourne. She spent more than a decade researching and publishing mathematics, mainly in the fields of abstract algebra and partial differential equations with applications to Soliton wave equations. During this time she became more interested in mathematics education and started teaching future Mathematics teachers and began researching and publishing in mathematics education.

    About a decade ago Allison moved to China to work with gifted and talented sixth form Chinese students wishing to enter Universities in the UK. While in China an opportunity arose to work in a KS1-KS5 British School and she really enjoyed the experience of teaching in this kind of whole school environment. From China she moved to Kazakhstan to work as Head of Mathematics at a prestigious British school and her passion for mathematics education across the secondary years flourished. She then spent a further three years working at the British International School of Bratislava, teaching IB mathematics to a diverse range of international leaners. Coupled with a desire to move closer to Australia, along with a strong desire to move to a school with a true focus on the whole pupil; where an atmosphere of excellence, happiness and success are truly cultivated; she made the choice to come to the British International School of Kuala Lumpur an easy one.
