I studied Music at Cardiff University and completed my teacher training at Cardiff Metropolitan University. Whilst living in Wales, I had classical vocal training and held a choral scholarship at St Martin's Church in Roath. I greatly enjoyed performing as a soprano with BBC National Chorus of Wales at the BBC Proms. I moved to Eltham in London to complete my first year as a qualified Music Teacher. I also worked alongside Greenwich Music Hub and helped to expand the Looked After Children Project, whilst establishing new partnerships with various schools across South East London. My journey as an international teacher began when I moved to Shanghai in 2019. Whilst teaching both primary and secondary students, I took on a lead role in developing the KS2 and KS3 Music curriculum and expanding the peripatetic programme.
As well as listening to all kinds of music, I love reading, going to the theatre, running, and being in nature. I am actively involved within my church community and has participated in missionary projects overseas. I especially love eating char siu bao!
As a teacher at BSKL, I believe that the key to success is consistent encouragement, helping every single student to fully embrace their self-worth and intrinsic value as an individual. I am really excited to start teaching at BSKL this year.
