Head of Science
Ms Lucy Twinney started her teaching career in the UK where she also spent several years developing her pedagogy in all 3 Science subjects. She has a NPQML from National College for Teaching and Leadership as well as a PGCSE and a BSc Biology (Zoology) from University of Leicester, United Kingdom. She has previously taught in Germany and Malaysia before moving to China. Now she returns to Malaysia to take on the role of Head of Science in BSKL.

Biology Teacher
Ms Emily Cant has 10 years of teaching experience in schools in the UK and Kuala Lumpur, and holds a Masters Degree in Education, a BSc in Biology and a PGCE in Science. For most of her time in the UK she worked at a nationally recognised grammar school, assisting many students into top performing universities including Oxbridge to study a range of courses including veterinary science, medicine and natural sciences. As well as teaching A Level Biology and GCSE Science, Emily has held Middle Leadership roles such as Head of Year and Head of Science.
Head of Chemistry
Ms Katie Childs has joined BSKL from Canada via United Kingdom. She began her teaching career at George Heriot's School in Edinburgh where she earned her QTS before moving to England and joining a vibrant and enthusiastic science department at Cheam High School (an Ofsted Outstanding school). During her time at Cheam High School Katie contributed greatly to the running of a very successful Chemistry department and developing the delivery of the A-level course. She then spent two years teaching at Duff Miller College in South Kensington (independent sixth form and GCSE college). Here she became Head of Chemistry and implemented the new A-level reform.
Chemistry Teacher
Ms Cassie Allday started at BSKL as an assistant teacher in the early years programme before completing my IPGCE and joining the secondary school as a Chemistry teacher. She loves to travel and have hiked to the peak of the highest mountain in North Africa, volunteered with orphans in Ghana and did the world’s highest bungee jump in South Africa.
Chemistry Teacher & STEAM Coordinator
After graduating, Mr Tobias Dunkin spent a year living and working in Toronto. Returning to the UK to complete a PGCE in science where he discovered his passion for teaching the younger generations. Since then he has started collecting elements and launching rockets (current number of elements is 28, successful rocket launches 133 (98 by students). His favourite quotes: 1. "le chimie créé son propre sujet"--Berthelot. 2. "A fact acquires its true and full value only through the idea which is developed from it" -- Liebig. 3. "One should always aspire to inspire the uninspired".
Head of Physics
Mr Jason Walker has been the Head of Physics of BSKL after spending four years at Kolej Tuanku Ja'afar where he worked in various roles including Deputy Head of Sixth Form, Curriculum Coordinator and Head of Middle School Science. He has been teaching physics for eight years and previously worked for a prestigious engineering company assisting a vast number of manufacturers, distributors and OEMs across the EMEA region to recruit senior level executives. It was here where Jason learnt what it takes to become a CEO for a wide range of engineering organisations from global conglomerates to local SMEs. This unique experience shapes much of his philosophy and teaching.
Physics Teacher
Dr Ruth Corrigan worked at a school in England for 3 years after completing her PGCE in Secondary Physics. She taught Maths to KS3 and 4, Science to KS3 and Physics to KS3, 4 and 5. She has been teaching Science and Physics at BSKL since 2019.
Following the completion of her Degree in Physics at the University of Exeter, Ms Emily Galloway begun her teaching career as a Teacher of Physics at an Independent, Girls School in Brighton & Hove, England. Prior to moving to Malaysia to teach at BSKL, she returned to England for a year to for fill a longstanding ambition of completing her Masters Degree in Theoretical Physics and Mathematics.
