BSc in Chemistry, University of Sheffield
IPGCE, University of Sheffield
I started at BSKL as an assistant teacher in the early years programme before completing my IPGCE and joining the secondary school as a Chemistry teacher. I love to travel and have hiked to the peak of the highest mountain in North Africa, volunteered with orphans in Ghana and did the worlds highest bungee jump in South Africa.
I started my teaching career as a teaching assistant in early years at BSKL. I moved up to the Secondary school where I worked for a year as a teaching assistant/ lab technician in the Science department. With the support of BSKL I was able to complete my IPGCE and have been teaching in the Science department ever since.
I grew up in a small town in North Wales, which meant from a very early age I developed a love for the outdoors. My hobbies include scuba diving, hiking, reading, painting, baking and sewing.
My favourite life quote is: " 'What if I fall?' 'Oh but my darling, what if you fly?' "
My two favourite educational quotes are: “The beautiful thing about learning is that no one can take it away from you” – B. B. King “The highest result of education is tolerance” – Hellen Keller
In my role at BSKL student happiness means feeling secure and safe in the learning environment, able to be challenged without fear of failure.
