    Mr Steven Ashford

    Steven has been in working in Secondary Schools for the last 10 years. He began his career Halifax (UK) working as part of the special educational needs team. 

    Following the completion of his PGCE in the subject of Geography, Steven spent four years teaching GCSE and A-level students in West Yorkshire before moving to The British International School of Kuala Lumpur.

    Steven now oversees the Pastoral provision at BSKL, he is committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for all of our Secondary students.

    Ms Nikki Macleod

    Secondary Assistant Head Post 16 and Community Engagement

    Ms Nikki Macleod

    Nikki is the Assistant Head for Post 16 and Community Engagement. She received her undergraduate degree in Business Management at Edinburgh University and her Masters in Leadership at the Institute of Education, UCL. She entered teaching through the Teach First graduate programme and was previously a Senior Leader at an Academy in London with responsibility for the Sixth Form and most recently was the Deputy Head of Secondary at a British school in Portugal.

    In London Nikki grew the Sixth Form with rapid growth where the school became OFSTED outstanding and TES UK School of the Year, 2013. In Portugal the IBDP average points score achieved was the highest the school had achieved, above 35 points (2014).

    At BSKL Nikki is responsible for our Post 16 provision as well as ensuring secondary students have meaningful opportunities to lead and engage in local and global issues .

    Dr Bruce Geddes

    Bruce is a learning expert with a PhD in Cognitive Psychology specialising in learning theory. He started his career as a management consultant implementing large computing systems into many of the world's leading companies. He went on to specialise in corporate education, specifically in using technology to accelerate learning and led many global teams to this effect. Bruce then decided to bring his experiences to support school education leveraging his computing experience within industry. He has developed a software assessment and feedback system that provides personalised peer lesson learning goals to pupils. He has also developed a wide range of online learning resources to support his department’s teaching. Bruce has previously worked as a teacher in the UK, including as head of computing. He dramatically transformed results in this role leveraging his computing enabled teaching systems. Bruce also has a good understanding of what it is like to be a pupil in an international school, having attended one himself.
