Ms Selina Murphy

Secondary Sport Coach / House Advisor

Ms Selina Murphy holds a PGCE from University of Manchester and First Class Sport Coaching Honours Degree from University of Central Lancashire. Before starting her teaching career, she has worked within the sports and leisure industry within her local community that included roles such as sport coach, swimming teacher assistant, lifeguard and spin instructor.

Before I started my teaching career I worked within the sport and leisure industry within my local community. My roles included, sports coach, swimming teacher assistant, lifeguard and spin instructor. Since I started my teaching career I have worked as a PE teacher in several schools in and around Manchester UK. I have also taught Health and Social care.

I was born in England. I am mixed White/Irish and Jamaican Indian. Before teaching, I used to DJ on the weekends. After being involved in sport throughout my life, I have always known I wanted to become a PE teacher. I love that physical activity can help others to develop their social, emotional and physical health.

I believe that self-love and acceptance of who we are is the key to happiness for us all. By helping students to be the best version of themselves through sport is a great starting point in preparation for our increasingly competitive world.
