As the Head of Secondary at BSKL, Dr Nicola Brown believes their role in promoting student happiness is to provide a safe environment for students to take risks, and to continuously improve and make progress. She has taught and held leadership roles across a variety of schools in London and Malaysia.

Head of Primary
Mr Simon Clarke spent five years teaching in the UK, where he held leadership positions prior to joining BSKL. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Primary Education, a GNVQ Hospitality and Catering, and is a FA Qualified Football Coach. Having experience of teaching across all ranges in Primary, and with his years of managerial experience, Simon has become an integral member of the BSKL Primary Management Team, leading teaching and learning throughout the Primary school. With his passion for teaching, Simon has an appreciation and understanding of the unique challenges that face international school students and is able to enhance children's self esteem to ensure they reach their full potential. In his spare time, Simon enjoys golf and all forms of competitive sport.
Interim Head of Secondary
Mr Aidan Edmanson has been in education for over fifteen years. He began his career as an English teacher in Lincolnshire before moving to teach in Colchester, Essex, where he soon took on the role of Head of Department. Since moving internationally to Guangzhou, China, Aidan has held a number of Senior Leadership positions including Assistant and Deputy Head of Secondary, overseeing a wide variety of responsibilities.

Mr Steven Ashford has been in working in Secondary Schools for the last 10 years. He began his career Halifax (UK) working as part of the special educational needs team. Following the completion of his PGCE in the subject of Geography, Steven spent four years teaching GCSE and A-level students in West Yorkshire before moving to The British International School of Kuala Lumpur.

Dr Bruce Geddes has previously worked as a teacher in the UK, including Head of Computing. He dramatically transformed results in this role leveraging his computing enabled teaching systems. Mr Robert Alexander has been working in the education sector for 13 years with a PGDE (Secondary) Business Education (Merit in Teaching) from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. He has held roles such as Assistant Principal (Pastoral) in Sixth Form in the UK and the Head of Middle School (Pastoral & Wellbeing) in Ho Chi Minh City. He enjoys travel, tennis, going to the gym and playing football.

Mr Dean Horne has held several Middle Leadership role over the last 10 years. His career started 13 years ago in Northumberland UK, where he was quickly appointed a Second in Department role. Having worked closely with an experience Head of Department, Dean continued his career in Gateshead, UK, where he was appointed Head of Modern Foreign Languages. He joined BSKL 6 years ago as the Head of Modern Foreign Languages Department in Secondary, where he introduced the French and Spanish A-Level courses, as well as leading and closely working with the Bahasa and Mandarin teams.

Mr Thomas Kimber is passionate about being active and enjoying physical activity. Whether it be competitive sports like football or just hobbies like walking, he loves to keep busy with exercise. He is also very keen on using creativity to make or create 'things'- sometimes functional, like furniture; sometimes for his own personal interest, like science experiments. He gains a great deal of satisfaction from the process of making something (even if the end result is wildly different from what he had originally envisaged!)
