Mr Aidan Edmanson has been in education for over fifteen years. He began his career as an English teacher in Lincolnshire before moving to teach in Colchester, Essex, where he soon took on the role of Head of Department. Since moving internationally to Guangzhou, China, Aidan has held a number of Senior Leadership positions including Assistant and Deputy Head of Secondary, overseeing a wide variety of responsibilities.
I am in Malaysia with my wife, Amanda, and our Miniature Schnauzer, Dexie. I love travelling, especially exploring Asia and the sensational sights, sounds and food that it has to offer. I also thoroughly enjoy cooking, running and reading. I am a passionate teacher and leader who very much believes in the importance of challenge, support and diverse opportunities in the development of both students and staff. Additionally, I am a firm believer that the importance of relationships and trust are key; we are certainly stronger when we are working together. Building on from this, a particular quote from Maya Angelou has always resonated with me; I feel it encapsulates how important our interactions are with one another and how the memory of those people who have a defining impact on us will certainly live on. "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."
From my perspective, student happiness is about feeling part of a community, being able to explore your passions and knowing that you are supported throughout this. This is key; if these fundamentals are in place then success will follow.
