Gemma started working at NAISNY in 2019, teaching throughout the school across a range of subjects.
Her move to become the full time IPC/IMYC teacher enables her to focus on her passion for Humanities and teaching the older students. Prior to making the big move to New York City from the UK, Gemma was the Head of Department in a central London school. She completed and received the National Award for Middle Leaders certification in 2018. She attained both her Bachelor’s degree (double major in English Literature and Film, Television and Media Studies) and post-graduate diploma in Education from The University of Auckland, New Zealand.
She is an experienced educator with experience from the early years up to KS5.
Gemma enjoys spending her time outdoors, trail running, hiking, snowboarding and playing tennis. Gemma is an avid runner and an RRCA certified coach. She competes in many distances but loves the marathon the most. On the weekends, you can often find Gemma competing in local races or exploring new trails in and around New York.
