A Long Term Huacao Resident of 9 Years!

For families relocating to Shanghai the prospect can be daunting. Here are some tidbits from existing families on what life in West Shanghai is like.

Interview with BISS Parent Yasmine Cakmakkaya

When did you move to China?
Where did you move from?
What is your nationality?
How many children do you have?
Two, 10 years old and 5 years old
When you first moved here what do you wish someone would have told you to bring?
Cheese & Olives!
Where do you live and why did you choose that particular compound?
Rose Lane Garden, I liked the house initially and I still do. My family is moving actually to the Shanghai Racquet Club. Our lease is ready for renewal and we are looking for a change but still living within our local community; as we like being close to school.
What do you do with your family on weekends for fun?
We play tennis or swim. Tennis is a family activity that we enjoy together. We all take lessons. My lessons are at Rancho Santa Fe and Shanghai Racquet Club where there is  a large tennis community. The children enjoy tennis through extra curricula activities at school and also BISCAPS. We also enjoy cooking during the weekend.
