On 14th June, Year 10 Mandarin iGCSE and Years 7, 8 and 9 EAL students explored the Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall at Balestier Road, as part of their learning about Chinese language and culture.

The students learned how Chinese immigrants in Singapore played an essential role in the 1911 Revolution, overthrowing the Qing dynasty and the birth of modern day China. As the original residence of Sun Yat Sen’s visits, the museum holds many original artifacts, historical documents and books. We were also lucky to visit the eye catching exhibition ‘Beauty of Betta', a selection of internationally renowned photographer Visarute Angkatavanich’s stunning photographic works. It is a beautiful exhibition that perfectly capture's the exuberant beauty of betta splendens fish, with many interactive activities enjoyed by the students.
